India's response came after Pakistan Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif raised the issue of Kashmir and Article 370 in the UN General Assembly on Friday. First Secretary General of India's Permanent Mission to the UN Bhavika Mangal Anandan has asked Pakistan Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif to understand the consequences of cross-border terrorism against India.

Shahbaz Sharif raised the Kashmir issue during his address to the 79th session of the General Assembly on Friday morning. Under the Right of Reply, Mangal Anandan explained India's position. "A military-ruled country - known around the world for its terrorism, drug trade and transnational crime - has shown the audacity to criticise the world's largest democracy.

The world knows that Pakistan has long used terrorism as a weapon against its neighbours. "Mangal Anandan also referred to the Pakistan-sponsored terrorist attacks on Parliament and Mumbai. India said it was "shameful" for such a country to talk about violence anywhere. In his speech on Friday, Sharif, as expected, raised the Kashmir issue. He said India should re-impose Article 370 in Kashmir and hold talks for peace.
